You’re invited to an Octoberfest fundraiser for Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington on Sunday October 6 from 5 to 8 PM at Christ Church. Besides having a rip-roaring good time, you’ll be raising money for a fantastic organization, Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington, that provides employment opportunities and life skills and support to our neighbors throughout DC and close-in suburbs.
The Capitol Hillbillies will provide a mix of blues, country, and gospel music on rhythm guitar/vocals, mouth harp, resonator slide guitar/washboard, upright string bass, and a rolling piano. The menu is smoked brisket, baked beans, coleslaw, and dessert, plus Octoberfest libations donated by the Christ Church Brew Crew
You’ll hear from a program graduate to hear how Samaritan Ministry changed his life trajectory. The all-inclusive ticket cost is $50 a person, of which $35 will go directly to Samaritan Ministry. Ticket receipts acknowledge the donation amount. Tickets must be purchased in advance. The cost for children is $15 with food, activities, and supervision in the upper room of the parish hall. Donations for Samaritan Ministries Greater Washington also accepted.
Christ Church Parish Hall is located at 620 G St SE. Entrance from G St and off the alley between G and E. Parking is limited.
