We started our day with realizing that today is our last day in paradise. 😩 Tomorrow we’ll have our last breakfast in San Pedro and begin the pilgrimage that is three legs and 1,593 miles (according to Google maps) to return home to DC. We started the day with breakfast at Red Ginger, our second breakfast and our fourth meal there. Since I was so enamored of the chunky monkey pancakes, I decided to have them again, this time with both chocolate & maple syrup!
After a great breakfast, we made our final trip to the chocolate shop. The gem of this visit was a ginger caramel truffle – while I have no idea who came up with this flavor. It was absolutely a delightful treat to the tastebuds!
If you have an opportunity to visit San Pedro, you must visit the Belize Chocolate Company, it’s a treat to the eyes, the olfactory glands, and the tastebuds!
A bit of pool time followed with some mahi tacos, pork samosas and a couple of mango margaritas.
For our last dinner on the island we went back to Blue Water Grill. Having had a great breakfast earlier in the trip and and with feedback from a staff member at Mahogany Bay, it felt like a safe choice. No surprises, it was a great meal. I chose one of the daily specials, a (stone crab) crab stuffed grouper.
The folk’s at Blue Water Grill serve great food with an attentive staff, but they’re also involved in their community, giving back to local causes through philanthropy.
While we really hate saying goodbye to Belize, we’re thrilled to have found a new “happy place” that has great beaches, great resorts, and great food.
